Download images from site server to local machine?

  • Question

I inherited my site from a colleague and would like to back it up on my computer. The site includes some images that I don't have locally and need to modify for new pages. Can I download the whole site, or at least individual images?

A program like wget will allow you to crawl a site and download the rendered pages and images. However, if you only need to grab certain images to edit, you can use the File Browser that is built into your Drupal Site. When you log in, click on your name in the upper right corner to go to your User page. Click on the "file browser" tab to see a listing of the directories and files on your site. Browse the folders to see what's in each. Click on a file to see a preview. Click on that preview to view the file in a new window, or right-click (control-click) to download the file.
