Feeds bug workaround

Category:

  • Tip / Idea

I discovered a bug today in the implementation of the Feeds module in Drupal Cloud, which will be addressed in an upcoming release. In the meantime, here is a workaround to re-enable Feeds import functionality on your site:

Go to People -> Modules.

Uncheck Feeds Admin UI, Feeds Import, and Feeds News.
Scroll down and click the Save Configuration button to disable them (temporarily).

When the page reloads, uncheck Feeds.
Scroll down and click the Save Configuration button to disable it (temporarily).

Let the page reload.

Check Feeds, Feeds Admin UI, Feeds Import, and Feeds News to re-enable them.
Scroll down and click the Save Configuration button.

This will reset the Feeds functionality on your site.

Now go to People -> Permissions.

Scroll to the Feeds section, and grant the Content Manger (or other appropriate role) permission to Administer Feeds and Import Feeds.

Scroll to the Node section, and grant the Content Manager (or other appropriate role) permission to create, edit, and delete Feed content.

Scroll down and click Save permissions.

You will now have everything you need to use Feeds!

The workaround worked for me. Thanks!

This bug was fixed in our September update, so this workaround is no longer needed.
