When your site is in maintenance mode it will be hidden from the public and only users with the "Use the site in maintenance mode" permission can make edits. You may wish to put your site in this hidden mode while you are developing your site.
To put your site into maintenance mode:
- Click Configuration, then Development, then Maintenance mode.
- Check/Uncheck the box for Put site into maintenance mode. You may also add a message.
To log in to your site while it is in maintenance mode, go directly to the /user page (e.g. http://mysite.mit.edu/user ) and click the "Login using Touchstone" link.
